Naoko Takeuchi
Naoko Takeuchi is the creator of
Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, the manga that became the most popular out of all of her works. She was born in 1967 and started to work at a manga publishing company, Kodansha, after winning a Nakayoshi art contest. Her school years came to heavily influence her works, such as
Sailor Moon,
Rain Kiss and
Love Call.
In 1997, Naoko left Kodansha because of a loss of the manuscript for her manga
PQ Angels. Instead she went to Shueisha, but returned to Kodansha in 1999 to make the
Materials Collection.
Naoko made her debut with Love Call, which she also recieved an award for. She then published one-shots until her creation of Maria, a comic that was based on an americal novel from 1912, Daddy Long-Legs. Since then, she has published many mangas, such as PQ Angels, Toki Meca!, and Love Witch. However, only her latest work Toki Meca! has been completed since Sailor Moon.
